Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District’s Holidays In the City. The traditional Tree decorating program included selling 90 potted trees, arranging for assembly at the Dauphin County VoTech School, distribution, and collection, in addition to coordinating the annual decorating contest.
Added for 2005 was a Holiday Calendar of Events listing of dozens of downtown events, a gift card promotion program at participating restaurants, and live door wreaths.
Following the Holidays, the trees were donated and planted along the Capitol Area Greenbelt, Harrisburg’s 20 mile long trail of parks.
